This watermelon-sized monster is cut open to reveal a stringy, sticky interior. Some of the guys put coconut oil on their hands to keep from getting their paws gummed up by the latex-like strands. This stringy part contains chubby, petal-shaped fruits of a yellow color, each containing within a large seed. These seeds can be boiled and eaten. They have a chestnut-y flavor to them, and apparently you can fry them with masala (mixture of Indian spices) for a nice treat!

It IS real!
Also, that picture is deceivingly small. I like this one:

I don't know, I'm still not convinced.
Come on..."Jack Fruit"? That's just ridiculous. You can't believe everything Wikipedia tells you.
Plus, those pictures of you and your friends eating this "Jack Fruit" were obviously doctored with the "Photoshop."
I just don't think I can bring myself to believe you, and it pains me so much that I had to write this comment about it.
I'm going to ask about this elsewhere on the internets.
Also, I checked Wikipedia, and there is no entry on "wikepedia" so I think you might have made that one up too. Geez, Nichole.
Um. Yes there is:

Thanks buddy.
Dear Nichole,
Whenever I see these photos of jackfruit and you and your friends having the fruit, I remember a story told by my cousin Mr. John Mcleson, some 30 years ago.
One day a European visited Tamilnadu for the first time. When he saw a bunch of banana hanging in a small shop, he asked the shop keeper how to have the fruit (banana). “Just remove the peel and have the fruit inside”- said he. The person did as advised by the shop keeper and enjoyed the fruit.
Next to the shop he saw a hawker selling another fruit (jackfruit). Without asking anything the person took a fleshy carpel of jackfruit, peeled off the edible part and had the seed inside, as in the case of the banana.
I would like to hear your comments, ok.
Regards
